Balance Sheet and Finance Process Accountant (6-month FTC)

We are working with our London-based client during an exciting period of growth to hire a Balance Sheet & Finance Process Accountant on a 6-month fixed term contract and we are looking for someone who is immediately available.
They are a fast-growing, private equity-backed hospitality group and the business is scaling rapidly across key European gateway cities. With significant investment in process and systems to support this growth, this role offers genuine scope for personal development within a fast-paced, energised environment.
Salary: £60,000-£70,000
Working arrangement: Full-time, office-based 5 days a week (London Bridge)
Availability: Must be immediately available
The Role
Reporting into the VP Finance, you will take ownership of the Group's balance sheet integrity and drive process improvement across the finance function during a period of rapid growth. Core responsibilities include:
- Leading a full review and clean-up of the balance sheet, resolving historic reconciling items and aged balances
- Ownership of monthly balance sheet reconciliations across the Group, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of variances
- Identifying and implementing process improvements across close, reconciliation and reporting cycles
- Documenting and standardising balance sheet control procedures to support the wider finance team
- Partnering with the finance team to embed sustainable controls ahead of continued scaling
- Supporting system and process enhancements alongside the VP Finance as the Group grows
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) or equivalent, with strong technical balance sheet reconciliation experience
- Track record of leading balance sheet clean-up or remediation projects
- Excellent systems skills (NetSuite, MS Excel or similar)
- Process-improvement mindset, comfortable identifying and fixing root causes rather than just clearing backlogs
- Strong organisational skills, able to manage a varied workload against a fixed-term deadline
- Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, scaling environment
