Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Specialist Palliative Therapy Team in Bolton. The services provide therapy, care and support for patients in their own home and in the Hospice.
You will work as part of a Multidisciplinary team, which includes Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Specialist Palliative Nurses, Nurse Assistant Practitioners, Pharmacists, Social Workers and Consultants.
Main duties of the job
Your role will be to work with patients independently and jointly with therapy staff on site at the Hospice or within the patient's own home, delivering therapy interventions to patients under the supervision of senior staff. The therapy interventions will include Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy. This is an exciting opportunity to join a service in Bolton where you can really make a difference to people's lives.

Qualifications

- GCSE English & maths or equivalent
- NVQ or equivalent level of knowledge
Desirable
- ECDL

- Previous experience with client group
- Previous experience working within therapy
- Previous experience or working within an NHS trust/health care/education setting

- Good written & verbal communication skills
- Basic IT skills
- Ability to work independently & as part of a team
- Abililty to cope with a busy worklaod
- Ability to use initiative
- Sensory skills eg manual dexterity
- Ability to plan & manage own time effectively
- Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail
- Ability to act as a role model
- Ability to make choices for pt care and in some cases determine the best course of action
- Ability to persuade/motivate/expalin/empathise with those with communication/understanding barriers
