On behalf of M&G, AMS are looking for a Commercial Contract Manager - for a 6-month contract based in Stirling, Reading or London. It is a hybrid model working 2 days on site minimal.

Purpose of the role:

The Commercial Contract Manager will provide specialist commercial contract management support across M&G's technology supplier landscape, ensuring key supplier agreements are effectively governed, commercially optimised and aligned to business, technology and regulatory requirements.

Working across Technology, Procurement and business stakeholders, the contractor will drive supplier performance, manage commercial risk, support contract renewals and extensions, and provide clear insight to support decision-making. The role requires a hands-on commercial professional who can quickly assess complex supplier arrangements, identify value and risk opportunities, and deliver pragmatic outcomes within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities for this role

  • Manage a portfolio of strategic technology supplier contracts, providing strong commercial oversight across performance, risk, cost and contractual obligations.
  • Lead supplier governance activities, ensuring issues, risks, actions and service improvements are identified, tracked and resolved.
  • Support contract renewals, extensions, variations and Statements of Work, working closely with Procurement and key business stakeholders.
  • Provide commercial insight and recommendations to support supplier strategy, investment decisions, risk management and value delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise supplier spend, improve commercial outcomes and drive greater value from existing agreements.
  • Partner with Technology, Procurement, Legal, Risk and Finance teams to ensure supplier arrangements remain compliant, well-governed and aligned to business priorities.
  • Produce clear reporting, decision papers and executive updates on supplier performance, commercial exposure and key contract milestones.
  • Build effective stakeholder and supplier relationships while maintaining appropriate commercial challenge and accountability.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Technology supplier contract management experience.
  • Financial services or regulated industry background.
  • Strong supplier governance and performance management skills.
  • Experience supporting contract renewals and commercial negotiations.
  • Good understanding of commercial terms, pricing models and contract risk.
  • Proven ability to identify cost savings and value opportunities.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver at pace.
  • Experience working with Procurement, Legal, Risk and Technology teams.
