Job summary

We are delighted to offer an opportunity for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our supportive Children's Occupational Therapy Service across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. You will work with children and young people aged 0-19 years with physical disabilities and motor coordination difficulties, delivering assessments and interventions in homes, schools, clinics and community settings.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support children to maximise their independence, participation and quality of life while collaborating with families, schools and partner agencies. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist looking to develop their skills within a friendly, innovative and child-centred service.

Working across homes, schools, nurseries and clinics, they will manage a caseload, deliver evidence-based interventions and support children to maximise their independence, participation and achievement in everyday activities.

The role includes working collaboratively with families, education staff and multidisciplinary colleagues, providing advice and training, assessing for specialist equipment, and contributing to the development of universal and targeted support resources for schools.

You will maintain accurate clinical records, contribute to service development and quality improvement activities, and participate in regular supervision and professional development.

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver occupational therapy assessment, treatment and review for children and young people aged 0-19 years.
  • Work across homes, schools, clinics and community settings to support participation, independence and wellbeing.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based programmes tailored to individual needs.
  • Work collaboratively with families, schools and multidisciplinary colleagues to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Assess and recommend equipment and provide advice, training and support to education staff.
  • Contribute to service development, resource creation and quality improvement initiatives.
