Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Infant Feeding Team at Liverpool Women's Hospital as a Band 3 Infant Feeding Support Worker. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to support families at a crucial time and to be part of a passionate, multi-professional team delivering high-quality, compassionate infant-feeding care. The post holder will support the provision of a family-centred maternity service, helping to ensure optimal care for pregnant people, women, their babies, and their families. Working as part of the Infant Feeding Team as well as midwifery and neonatal teams and external partner agencies, you will play a key role in promoting and supporting infant feeding across the Trust. You will provide high-quality, caring, and compassionate support under the direction, though not direct supervision, of registered professionals within the team. This includes offering practical and emotional support to families, contributing to education and promotion of infant feeding, and supporting the wider maternity and neonatal services in line with Trust values and standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a caring nature, strong communication skills, and an interest in infant feeding and maternity care, who is keen to develop their experience within a specialist service.

The Infant Feeding Support Worker will actively seek the views of women and their families on the understanding of their care needs in relation to infant feeding and building a relationship with their new baby. The Infant Feeding Support Worker will assist the Infant Feeding Lead, Registered Midwives and other members of the multidisciplinary team in implementing care plans to support infant feeding. The infant feeding support worker may also be required to undertake some clerical, clinical and domestic duties to ensure a safe environment.
