Job summary

Main duties of the job
You'll work as an autonomous practitioner providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population whilst benefiting from the support of an experienced and collaborative clinical team.

Job description
Job responsibilities
Sessions may include:
- Face-to-face consultations
- Telephone consultations
- Clinical triage
- Duty Doctor sessions
- Home visiting
- Review and management of test results and correspondence
- Provide a full range of services in line with the requirements of the GMS contract and Enhanced Services contract
- Be expected to undertake all the duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working in Primary Care
- Assessing the health needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems, making autonomous, professional decisions in relation to presenting problems
- Practice evidence-based medicine
- Prescribe and administer medicines in accordance with the medicines management procedures. Complete referrals where appropriate including any suggested diagnostic testing and report on results to patients as required.
- Provide clinical support for colleagues including assisting with the mentoring of training colleagues, respond to queries from nursing team
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- Undertake relevant administrative and non-clinical duties needed for the delivery of medical services.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of practice standard operating procedures
- Attend practice meetings and other clinical meetings when required.
- Maintain good medical practice and clinical care by undertaking appropriate educational and training to allow the continued development of the knowledge, skills and attitudes relevant to modern primary.
- Participating in the clinical audit programme.
- Respond and reflect on personal practice through appraisal, patient complaint and SEA.
