Job summary
We are currently recruiting for experienced and newly qualified ODPs/Theatre Nurses within our Theatre team.
We would love to tell you about our team and our culture. Our area is committed to providing a high standard of patient care over two sites (Scarborough & Bridlington), covering a variety of specialities, including: Maxillofacial, ENT, Gynaecology, Urology, Upper GI, Orthopaedics as well as Acute & Trauma.
We welcome applicants from both experienced and new qualified ODP's/anaesthetic nurses. You do not need any additional qualifications to be eligible for this post, but hold passion, enthusiasm and commitment to provide patient centred care.
- A positive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research evidence.
- A willingness to supervise and teach junior staff and colleagues and share learning through clinical supervision.
- The ability to work as an integral member of the team

Main duties of the job
- Maintain a high standard of patient focused care in accordance with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust policies and procedures
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept.
- Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.
- Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient
- Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct and HCPC standard of proficiency for Operating Department Practitioners
- Undertake duties on different wards/departments as and when required by service demands
- Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures
