Job summary
As Critical Care Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Critical Care Unit, providing strong clinical leadership and ensuring we continue to deliver safe, effective and compassionate care.
Main duties of the job
* Leading, supporting and developing the Critical Care team, acting as a visible and approachable clinical leader. * Managing staffing, rotas and workforce planning to ensure safe staffing levels, appropriate skill mix and service capacity. * Maintaining high standards of clinical care, patient safety and infection prevention and control. * Supporting the education, training and competency development of Critical Care and wider clinical teams. * Providing Critical Care Outreach support to other areas of the hospital when required, including supporting the safe step-down of patients to the ward environment. * Working closely with the Director and Deputy Director of Clinical Services and wider senior leadership team to develop and improve the service. * Participating in the Hospital Resuscitation Team and the hospital Duty Manager and Senior On-Call rotas.

- * Significant experience working within an acute hospital Critical Care/HDU environment.
- * Previous experience in a senior Registered Nurse or equivalent leadership position.
- * Experience of leading, mentoring and developing clinical teams.
- * Experience of workforce planning and clinical rostering.
- * ALS and CALS training.
- * A relevant nursing degree or equivalent, alongside evidence of ongoing clinical and leadership development.
