Location: Witney

Contract Type: 12 months

Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: upto 33,000

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Calibration Engineer to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of measurement and testing equipment used in the manufacturing, testing, and maintenance of medical devices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for calibration planning, execution, documentation, troubleshooting, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration, verification, and preventive maintenance of laboratory, production, and inspection equipment.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain calibration schedules and records.
  • Ensure all measurement equipment complies with internal quality requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve calibration-related issues to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Review calibration certificates and verify traceability to national or international standards.
  • Coordinate with external accredited calibration laboratories when required.
  • Support equipment qualification activities, including Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ).
  • Prepare and maintain calibration procedures, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits and support regulatory inspections.
  • Analyze calibration trends and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Validation, Engineering, and Maintenance teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and company quality policies.
  • Train technicians and operators on calibration procedures and proper equipment handling.
  • Maintain inventory and status labeling of calibrated equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2-5 years of experience in calibration, instrumentation, or equipment maintenance within the medical device, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry.
  • Knowledge of calibration principles for pressure, temperature, humidity, flow, mass, electrical, dimensional, and analytical instruments.
  • Familiarity with calibration management software and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
