Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and committed Midwife to join our friendly and growing team at West Herts as St Albans Community Team Lead Midwife.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Midwife who is looking for a new challenge in management and leadership, focusing on delivering exceptional care and support to staff and service users.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be the key clinical leader for community midwifery services in St Albans supporting the Community and Birth Centre Matron in ensuring the highest standard of midwifery practice and clinical care is delivered.
The post holder will have a duty to enhance service user and staff experience; provide effective operational leadership and management; and contribute to the delivery of the organisation's objectives.

Essential
- Registered Midwife with UK NMC Pin.
- Evidence of post-registration education
- Mentorship preparation or equivalent.
- Evidence of CPD in relevant clinical area
Desirable
- Recognised Leadership and management qualification
- NIPE trained, or willing to work towards
- NLS course HDU or equivalent course
- Prescribing qualification
Knowledge
Essential
- Evidence of leadership skills.
- An awareness of national and local NHS and midwifery agendas.
- Clear understanding of national recommendations in maternity care
Desirable
- An awareness of finance and human resources.
- Previous experience and involvement in midwifery research or audit
