This is an opportunity you dont want to miss. We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Practitioner to join our Liaison & Diversion team in West Yorkshire.

Hours Monday - Friday: 8am - 6pm

Salary This position is full time and you will receive a salary of £43,609 to £49,175 depending on experience

Location Leeds Hub with travel across the West Yorkshire Region

Main duties of the job

As a Liaison and Diversion Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • be part of an extended team working across Liaison & Diversion service
  • work autonomously in court and police detention cells in order to identify and respond to requests of screening and assessment of people with identified health needs in contact with the criminal justice system
  • use validated tools to assess for a number of identified health needs and utilise information accordingly to inform decision-making and facilitate diversion within and out of the criminal justice pathway, creating a clear individualised care plan

About us

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

  • Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse or Mental Health Social Worker with current registration with the relevant professional body
  • Substantial evidence of continuing professional development and post registration training.
  • Experience of psychosocial interventions and awareness of substance misuse
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to gain appropriate level of consent
  • Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards
  • Knowledge of evidence based practice, health promotion, NICE guidelines and pharmacology
  • Knowledge of current legislation relating to community mental health provision and forensic psychiatry
