Procurement Advisor
About this job
Procurement Advisor
Leeds | Hybrid and Home Working | 37.5 hours per week | AfC Band 6 equivalent
Are you a procurement professional who thrives on turning complex regulations into practical, confident advice? We're recruiting on behalf of a respected public sector organisation for a Procurement Advisor to join a busy, high-impact commercial contracts team.
This is a role with genuine variety and influence. You'll be the go-to expert for contract and procurement matters across the organisation — advising business areas on the right procurement route, shaping tender evaluation methods, and negotiating your way through tricky contractual issues with skill and diplomacy. One day you might be drafting policy and procedure; the next, delivering training to staff at every level or analysing returns on high-value contracts.
You'll take real ownership: managing your own workload, prioritising competing demands, and using sound judgement to know when to push forward and when to flag concerns upward. You'll maintain the contracts database, prepare tender documentation, and help develop a procurement plan that supports the wider business strategy — all while ensuring everything you touch meets procurement legislation and Government Commercial Standards.
What you'll bring:
- Strong knowledge of Public Procurement Regulations and end-to-end Procure-to-Pay processes
- Experience drafting organisation-wide policies and procedures
- Confident use of sourcing and P2P platforms (Atamis experience a plus)
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the tact to handle contract disputes and supplier complaints professionally
- The organisation and initiative to manage a varied, sometimes unpredictable workload
What's on offer:
- Hybrid/home working flexibility (1 day per week in the Leeds office)
- A collaborative team environment with real scope to develop your procurement career
- Exposure to high-value contracts, senior stakeholders, and strategic decision-making
If you're ready to bring your procurement expertise to an organisation that genuinely values doing things properly, we'd love to hear from you.
