HR Specialist - Wokingham - 12-18 Month FTC - Salary to £40,000

We are working with a well-established organisation with a strong reputation for delivering excellent service and building lasting customer relationships, having a people-focused culture providing a supportive environment where employees can develop, contribute, and succeed. We are seeking an experienced HR Specialist to join their team on a fixed-term basis. Working alongside the Senior HR Specialist and HR & Payroll Assistant, you will deliver a professional, proactive HR service across the business.

A bit about the job....

Employee Relations & HR Advice

  • Provide HR guidance on policies, procedures, TUPE, and employment law.
  • Manage employee relations cases including absence, disciplinary, grievance, and performance matters.
  • Support sickness absence management, return-to-work discussions, and case resolution.
  • Produce accurate HR correspondence and documentation.
  • Coach managers to develop confidence in people management.
  • Support complex cases with senior HR colleagues.

HR Operations

  • Support onboarding, probation, performance management, and offboarding processes.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and compliance data.
  • Assist with compliance and DBS-related matters.
  • Support TUPE transfers, including documentation and employee communication.
  • Ensure HR processes remain compliant with employment legislation and company policies.

Business Support & Improvement

  • Partner with managers to provide practical HR solutions.
  • Build strong working relationships across office and operational teams.
  • Support HR projects, policy reviews, engagement initiatives, and process improvements.
  • Help drive positive change and enhance the employee experience.

A little bit about you....

You will have:

  • Previous experience in an HR Advisor, HR Specialist, or HR Generalist role.
  • Strong employee relations experience and sound HR knowledge.
  • Good understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience) desirable.
  • Ability to work full-time from the office.

You will be proactive, adaptable, solutions-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while working independently and as part of a team.
