Job summary

Staff Nurse - Pre-Assessment Plymouth Hospital | Pre-Assessment | Permanent | Part time Up to £34,000 per annum (pro rata), depending on skills and experience 30 hours per week

Main duties of the job

As a Pre-Assessment Staff Nurse, you will: Be part of a close-knit team delivering matron-led care in a consultant-led service As the first point of contact you will work with leading talent and professionals to make the right assessments for patients prior to their surgery Demonstrate a broad knowledge base and assessment skills to ensure patient care Fully understand and support the needs of each patient and their family Offer comfort and reassurance, providing the highest standards of care Build your experience across new practices, equipment and facilities Work with practitioners in other areas, understanding that continuity in patient care is key

We have 3 main theatres - 2 laminar flow and 1 digital, a fully JAG accredited endoscopy suite, a 35-bedded ward with one 4 bedded bay and one 2 bedded bay. Our outpatients department has 12 consulting rooms with a dedicated ophthalmology suite and ENT service. We carry out treatment under a range of specialities including Orthopaedics, Plastic Surgery and Neurosurgery. We recently were rated in the top 50 hospitals in the country for our total hip replacement patient outcomes.
