Join Our Team

If you're at your best when things are busy, changeable and occasionally chaotic, we would like to hear from you! Organisation matters - and in this role, it really matters. Are you the person people rely on to bring order to a busy day? Are you looking for a new change? If so this could be the ideal role.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and highly motivated Team Administrator to become a key member of our Mental Health Liaison Psychiatry (East) service, based at Queen's Hospital, Burton upon Trent.

This role would be ideal for an Administrator who enjoys bringing structure, anticipating needs, handling calls and acting as a calm organised presence within a busy service. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to play a pivotal role within a busy and dynamic multidisciplinary team, supporting the delivery of specialist mental health care across three hospital sites, including one acute hospital and two community hospitals.

As the first point of contact for many referrals into the service, you will be central to coordinating patient flow, ensuring referrals are processed efficiently and supporting clinicians to deliver timely assessments and interventions. This is a varied role with significant responsibility and the opportunity to shape and develop your own ways of working within a supportive team environment.

Main duties of the job

The Team Administrator will work closely with healthcare professionals, team leaders, consultants and medical staff to ensure the smooth running of daily operations. Handling incoming queries to the team from Wards, Healthcare professionals, patients and carers. Taking accurate concise messages.

You will be responsible for coordinating and processing referrals received into the Mental Health Liaison Psychiatry Service.

Produce clinical letters including creating and distributing letters through Hybrid Mail.

Maintaining patient records using clinical systems (Rio and acute hospital system), supporting communication across hospital sites and managing a wide range of administrative processes that contribute directly to patient care.

Support clinicians with diary management, data collection and administrative tasks.

Ensure that information is recorded, stored and communicated in accordance with Trust policies and confidentiality requirements.

This position offers a degree of autonomy, allowing the post holder to manage and prioritise their own workload whilst responding flexibly to the needs of the service.
