About this job

Validation Analyst

Temporary Contract | £22–£26 per Hour

Remote, UK | 40 Hours per Week Preferred

Start Date: Ideally 1 October 2026

We’re partnering with a growing business operating within business validation and identity verification to appoint experienced Validation Reviewers on an initial temporary contract.

This is a hands-on role for candidates with experience across KYB/KYC, merchant onboarding, underwriting, financial crime, credit risk or investigative research, who are confident assessing complex business information and making clear, evidence-backed decisions.

You’ll be responsible for reviewing businesses and associated brand identities, investigating discrepancies and screening concerns, and ensuring decisions are supported by accurate research and clear documentation.

The Opportunity

As Validation Reviewer, you’ll carry out detailed business validation checks, reviewing company information, ownership structures, directors, screening results and online evidence to determine whether a business and its associated identity can be verified.

You’ll investigate inconsistencies, assess potential financial-crime or screening risks and escalate more complex cases where appropriate.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys investigative work, detailed analysis and evidence-based decision-making within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll play a key role in supporting accurate and consistent business validation by:

  • Carrying out KYB checks and, where required, KYC activity.
  • Reviewing company records, accounts, ownership structures and directors.
  • Assessing sanctions, PEP and adverse-media screening results.
  • Investigating potential screening matches and identifying genuine concerns.
  • Reviewing websites, domains, email information, privacy policies and terms.
  • Investigating franchise, group, company and brand relationships.
  • Resolving discrepancies between registered businesses, trading names and associated brands.
  • Interpreting incomplete or conflicting business information.
  • Conducting additional research where system-generated information requires further validation.
  • Recording clear, accurate case notes explaining the evidence reviewed and the decision reached.
  • Making well-reasoned, evidence-backed validation decisions.
  • Escalating complex, uncertain or higher-risk cases in line with established procedures.
  • Working accurately and efficiently while managing a high volume of cases.
About You

You’ll have experience assessing businesses, customer information or financial-crime risk and will be confident working with detailed, sometimes conflicting information.

Relevant backgrounds may include:

  • Merchant Onboarding / Merchant Underwriting
  • KYB / KYC Analysis
  • CDD / EDD
  • AML / Financial Crime
  • Credit or Credit Risk Analysis
  • Fraud Investigation
  • Intelligence or Investigative Research

You will also have:

  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • Experience interpreting business structures, ownership and company information.
  • Confidence assessing sanctions, PEP and adverse-media concerns.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • The ability to make clear, evidence-based decisions.
  • Good judgement around when a case should be escalated.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively at pace.
  • A reliable and discreet approach when handling confidential information.

Experience within payments, banking, financial services or business information would be particularly relevant.

French or German language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.

  • Temporary contract.
  • Start date: ideally 1 October 2026, with potential earlier work during September.
  • Initially one month, with potential for further work.

  • Core daytime coverage is required, with potential opportunities across early mornings, evenings and weekends.
