About the Role

As a History Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons that develop student's understanding of key historical events, themes, and interpretations. You will encourage critical thinking, analysis of evidence, and a deeper appreciation of how the past shapes the present.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging History lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach a range of topics such as medieval history, modern world history, and British history
  • Support GCSE and A-Level History (where applicable)
  • Develop student's essay writing, source analysis, and evaluation skills
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress
  • Contribute to curriculum development within the Humanities department
  • Lead or support enrichment activities such as history clubs, trips, or museum visits

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Degree in History or a related Humanities subject
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for historical study
  • Ability to make history engaging, relevant, and accessible
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
  • Willingness to contribute to wider school life and enrichment
