Teaching Assistant - Year 3

  • Location: Northfield, Birmingham, B31
  • Weekly Pay: £500 - £525
  • Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Contract: Long-Term to Permanent

Long Term Futures are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Northfield. You will be based within a Year 3 class, providing whole-class support alongside additional SEN support for individual pupils.

The role will include supporting a pupil with SEMH needs, as well as assisting another member of staff with the personal care needs of a child in the class.

The Role
  • Provide whole-class support within a Year 3 classroom
  • Support a pupil with SEMH and emotional regulation needs
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support where required
  • Assist another member of staff with a pupil's personal care
  • Deliver targeted interventions and support learning activities
  • Promote positive behaviour, engagement and independence
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team
The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous Teaching Assistant experience within a primary school
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN and/or SEMH
  • Comfortable supporting with personal care alongside another member of staff
  • Confident providing whole-class, small group and 1:1 support
  • Calm, patient and nurturing approach
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
