Rate: Up to £700 per day (Inside IR35)
London: Hybrid (2-3 days per week)
Contract length: Initial 6-Month Contract
I am recruiting for a large International Banking organisation who urgently require a Finance Business Analyst with expertise in Finance and accounting principles, including Financial reporting, trial balances, debits and credits, retained earnings, reconciliations, and period-end processes) along with proven experience in Data, SQL and Banking products (ie Trade Finance / FX / Money Markets/ Derivatives / Loans / Treasury products) to support a major core Banking Transformation Programme.
This is a hands-on role focused on analysing, mapping, and reconciling Finance Data as services are migrated from a legacy core banking platform into strategic target systems. The successful candidate will combine strong Business Analysis skills with Finance Data expertise, SQL capabilities, and a solid understanding of banking products.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Finance Business Analyst within the banking industry, with strong knowledge of banking products (ie. Trade Finance / FX / Money Markets / Derivatives / Loans / Treasury products etc).
- Solid understanding of Finance and accounting principles, including financial reporting, trial balances, debits and credits, retained earnings, reconciliations, General Ledger and period-end processes.
- Proven experience in Finance data analysis, data mapping, and data validation.
- Ability to work with data across multiple systems and understand how information translates between different platforms and reporting environments.
- Hands-on involvement in data migration, transformation, integration, or large-scale change programmes.
- Ability to analyse large data extracts and identify data quality, control, and reconciliation issues.
- SQL skills to enable data interrogation, analysis, and extraction.
- Experience working closely with developers and technical teams to define data requirements and support data extraction activities.
- Strong requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to engage effectively with both business and technical stakeholders, including senior Finance and Technology teams.
- Ability to work independently and deliver within fast-paced project environments.
Nice to Have
- Immediate availability.
- Working knowledge of Oracle Financials including modules such as AP, AR, GL, FAH etc.
- Familiarity with PL/SQL.
