Procurement and Contracts Support Officer

Venn Group are currently recruiting for a Procurement & Contracts Support Officer on behalf of a local authority in West Yorkshire.

Role Details

• Position: Procurement & Contracts Support Officer
• Location: West Yorkshire - 1 day per week onsite
• Rate: £250 per day
• Hours: 37 hours per week
• Contract Lengths: Until the end of June 2027

Key Responsibilities

• Providing procurement, financial, asset management and administrative support within the Information Services Planning & Administration team.
• Supporting the delivery of compliant IT procurements in line with public sector procurement legislation, Council Financial Regulations and Contract Standing Orders.
• Assisting with contract management activities to ensure legal compliance and value for money from IT suppliers.
• Supporting financial administration, asset management, FOI requests and telephony contract administration.
• Maintaining service documentation and utilising IT service management tools in line with ITIL processes.
• Identifying opportunities for cost savings and service improvements across the Council.
• Working collaboratively with stakeholders, suppliers and internal teams to support service delivery and continuous improvement.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation relating to procurement, data protection, freedom of information and information governance.

Essential Experience

• Proven experience within public sector procurement.
• Knowledge of procurement legislation, governance and compliance requirements.
• Experience supporting procurement and contract management activities.
• Strong stakeholder management, administrative and organisational skills.
• Experience working within a local authority or wider public sector environment is highly desirable.
