RAN Optimization Engineer - Regional Planning & Optimisation
Location: UK-based (London, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Ipswich, or Glasgow)
Contract: 6 Months (Inside IR35)
Clearance: BPSS Required
Working Hours: 37.5 hours/week (Shift pattern covering 08:00-20:00 Mon-Fri, and 08:30-17:00 Weekends/Bank Holidays)
About the RoleWe are seeking a Performance Specialist to join our Regional Planning & Optimisation team. You will be responsible for maintaining radio network KPI metrics, investigating and resolving customer issues, and driving continuous improvements to ensure top-tier network performance and an excellent subscriber experience.
Key Responsibilities-
Performance Monitoring: Monitor network KPI metrics at both regional (top-down) and cell levels (bottom-up) to investigate abnormal changes and determine root causes.

Issue Resolution: Investigate reported customer network issues and implement action plans, including performing RF tuning, managing remedy incidents, and requesting network investments.

AI Training: Provide feedback to data-driven AI operations algorithms to improve anomaly detection and root cause analysis recommendations.

Collaboration: Work closely with operations and managed service providers to ensure performance-impacting faults are progressed and resolved effectively.

Data Analytics: Utilize advanced data analytics to build evidence packs, drive business decisions, and improve departmental ways of working.

Team Support: Share knowledge openly and support the development of less experienced team members.

RAN Expertise: Advanced knowledge of Mobile Network RAN optimization, planning, and performance.

Vendor Knowledge: Hands-on experience with Huawei, Ericsson, or Nokia performance counters, parameters, and RAN vendor alarm diagnostics.

Operational Experience: Proven track record of working within a live operational telecom environment.

Data & Decision Making: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex, incomplete datasets to make confident, actionable decisions.

Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills to justify actions and secure stakeholder buy-in.

Drive survey analysis.

Coverage predictions and analysis using the Atoll planning system.

Experience using Crowd datasets to measure actual coverage levels and serving cells.
