Technical Reporting Accountant - 12 Month FTC

What You'll Do:
* Own the technical close process, including the preparation and production of monthly and quarterly insurance technical results under UK GAAP and IFRS 17.
* Produce comprehensive quarterly closing packs and conduct detailed financial reviews, analysing variances and investigating unusual movements.
* Support process improvement initiatives within the financial reporting domain, contributing to system enhancements and change projects.
* Liaise directly with external auditors and ensure all reporting requirements are met with accuracy and timeliness.
* Lead or assist in ongoing process and procedural change projects pertinent to core financial reporting, continuously seeking efficiency and control improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Qualified Accountant with at least 3-5 years of experience in the insurance industry.
* Proven experience in handling or significantly contributing to the technical close for a general insurer.
* Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MI reporting.
* Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and SUMIFS.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities, with experience liaising with external auditors.
* Robust organizational skills, with excellent task planning and time management.
Nice to Have Skills:
* Experience with IFRS 17 reporting.
* Knowledge of process improvement methodologies.
* Previous experience in insurance technical accounting or financial reporting roles.
