We are working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Northampton that is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Reception Class Teacher to join their team from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about giving young children the very best start to their education. The school is open to candidates looking for either a long-term temporary position or a temp-to-perm opportunity, depending on the individual and the needs of the school.

The successful candidate will join a supportive team and play an important role in creating a positive, engaging, and stimulating learning environment where every child is encouraged to develop their confidence, independence, and love of learning.

Role Highlights
  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and age-appropriate learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Create a warm, nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating Reception classroom where every child feels safe, valued, and encouraged to learn.
  • Support children's development across all areas of the EYFS, including communication and language, physical development, literacy, mathematics, and personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Use play-based learning, practical activities, and child-led opportunities to encourage curiosity, creativity, independence, and a love of learning.
  • Differentiate and adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs, interests, and developmental stages of all pupils.
  • Observe, assess, and track children's progress, using assessment information to inform planning and support next steps.
  • Promote positive behaviour, confidence, resilience, independence, and positive relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and school leaders to provide high-quality learning and pastoral support.
  • Develop positive and professional relationships with parents and carers.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities, events, and whole-school initiatives.
About You
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching within a UK primary or Early Years setting.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.
  • A nurturing, enthusiastic, patient, and creative approach to teaching.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
  • The ability to create an engaging, language-rich, and stimulating learning environment.
  • A strong commitment to supporting children's academic, social, emotional, and personal development.
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and helping them build strong foundations for future learning.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team while also taking ownership of your classroom.
  • ECTs are warmly encouraged to apply and will receive full support and mentoring.
