Main Purpose of the job: Lettings Officer
To provide an effective lettings service for properties managed by Lewisham Council, ensuring properties are advertised and let within target times set and that all statutory requirements are complied with. Work closely with internal and external partners to ensure a high quality, efficient and effective lettings service with minimum of turnaround time
Summary of Responsibilities and Personal Duties: Lettings Officer

1. Terminate tenancies each week in line with procedures. Anticipate voids wherever possible.
2. Place accurate and good quality adverts for available properties each week within the deadlines provided.
3. Coordinate matches to properties and arrange viewings as soon as the property is safe to view.
4. Prepare sign up packs and ensure fobs and keys are available.
5. Carry out office sign-ups, ensuring these take place at the earliest opportunity and within timelines set out in our policies to minimise rent loss and void time.
6. Set up tenancies and input data for CORE reporting within 48 hours of the sign up. Ensure information is accurate and any vulnerabilities are recorded.
7. Maintain comprehensive and up to date records of void progress and tenancies on the Housing Management System.
8. Update the choice-based lettings system.
9. Provide good quality responses to all enquires and complaints.
10. Work collaboratively with other members of the Housing and Communities team and key stakeholders to ensure an excellent service is provided to residents.
11. Work with the Voids Repair Team to ensure properties are let within the target relet times.

Comply with all Lewisham council policies, including contractual standing orders, financial regulations and all HR policies and procedures including Health & Safety and Equality & Diversity To carry out the duties of the post with due regard to the Council’s relevant codes and procedures. All employees are required to participate in Appraisal and Performance Management processes and to undertake appropriate training and development, including mandatory induction training, identified to enhance their work. Undertake other duties, commensurate with the grade, as may reasonably be required. Consideration will be given to restructuring the duties of this post for a disabled postholder. Lettings Officer
