Almond Road Surgery Cleaner

Job summary
Almond Road Surgery is seeking a reliable and conscientious Cleaner to join our friendly team.
This role is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout our busy GP surgery, ensuring a safe, clean and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff.
The successful candidate will work independently and take pride in maintaining excellent cleaning standards. Previous cleaning experience is desirable, particularly within a healthcare, clinical or office environment.
Due to the recent reconfiguration and expansion of the practice premises, we are looking to recruit an additional Cleaner to work alongside our existing cleaning arrangements and help maintain the high standards.
Working hours will be outside of surgery opening hours, either:
- 5.45am to 7.45am, Monday to Friday, or
- From 6:30pm - 8.30 p.m. , Monday to Friday
- 2 hours, Monday to Friday
Applicants must be aged 18 years or over.
Key holder and Lone Working
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining all areas of the surgery, including:
- Patient waiting areas
- Reception and administration offices
- Clinical and non-clinical rooms
- Kitchen and staff areas
- Corridors and communal areas
- Four patient and staff toilet facilities
Duties will include:
- Vacuuming and mopping floors
- Dusting and wiping surfaces
- Cleaning desks and workstations
- Emptying bins and replacing liners
- Cleaning toilets, sinks and washroom facilities
- Restocking toilet paper, hand towels and soap dispensers
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control
- Reporting any maintenance or health and safety concerns
- Due to the nature of the working hours, the successful candidate will be required to work independently and adhere to the practice's lone working procedures at all times.
- The successful candidate will be required to act as a key holder, including opening and/or securing the premises, ensuring the building is left secure and any security concerns are reported appropriately.
About us
Almond Road Surgery is a busy and growing GP practice based in St Neots, caring for approximately 8,000 patients.
We are a training practice and work closely with a wide multidisciplinary team, including GPs, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Paramedics, Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, GP Assistants and Social Link Prescribers.
