Essex - QSW - Children in Care team (Chelmsford)

Eden Brown Synergy are currently recruiting for an experienced Children's Social Worker to join Essex County Council within their Children in Care - Mid Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Social Worker with strong Children in Care experience to join a busy service on a locum basis, working with children and young people who are looked after and supporting them through their care journey.

The Role

As a Social Worker within the Children in Care team, you will be responsible for:

• Managing a caseload of children and young people in care.
• Completing assessments and developing effective care plans.
• Undertaking statutory visits and ensuring children's needs and welfare remain central to decision-making.
• Working closely with foster carers, families, schools, health professionals and other partner agencies.
• Preparing for and contributing to Looked After Children reviews and other relevant meetings.
• Promoting positive outcomes, stability and permanence for children and young people.
• Maintaining accurate and timely case records in line with statutory requirements.
• Working within relevant safeguarding legislation, policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Social Work England registration.
• A recognised Social Work qualification.
• Strong experience working with Children in Care / Looked After Children.
• Good knowledge of safeguarding, care planning and relevant children's social care legislation.
• Excellent assessment, recording and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a complex caseload and work effectively within a multi-agency environment.
• Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience working in Social Work roles within a UK English Local Authority.
