Recycling Officer

Noble Recruiting is delighted to be supporting a local authority to recruit two Recycling Officers on a 6-month, full-time basis. Please note this role is based at Clacton on Sea, and you will be required to work on site 5 days per week.

The Role:

We are seeking two Recycling Officers to join our Waste and Recycling Team on a six-month fixed term contract to support the team introduce simpler recycling compliant collection service to local residents. The post will be based in Clacton and you must have access to a car for travel around district.

The role will involve, but not limited to:

• Kerbside compliance monitoring of our waste and recycling contractor
• Customer and contractor engagement and education to promote all aspects of recycling and waste minimisation
• Attending meetings with contractors, helping to ensure TDC are Simpler Recycling compliant
• Auditing of communal bin stores sites and installation of additional recycling provisions, customer engagement and education
• Introducing, supporting and promoting food waste collection provisions to communal properties
• Container deliveries to households
• Handling public contact via telephone and emails, as well as undertaking administrative and operational tasks to support the effective and efficient operation of the Council waste and recycling service

• Background experience in waste management is essential
• Establishes good relationships with customers and staff
• Builds wide and effective networks of contacts inside and outside the organisation
• Gains clear agreement and commitment from others by persuading, convincing and negotiating
• Full driving licence essential and access to personal vehicle
