Mechanical Day Technician

MECHANICAL DAY TECHNICIAN - MINIMUM 6 MONTH CONTRACT

£26.87 per hour

Location: Leyland

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm

This is a minimum 6 MONTH CONTRACT position working for a reputable industrial company within the Leyland area. You will work as a Mechanical Day Technician, supporting with reactive and planned maintenance across the site.

There is a potential that this contract may extend further than 6 months.

The Mechanical Day Technician role:

• Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across production machinery and site equipment.
• Work as part of a skilled maintenance team to deliver reliability improvements.
• Support engineering projects, installations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently, with a focus on minimising downtime.

Requirements for the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:

• Mechanical Bias
• Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
• Experience within a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment (forces backgrounds also considered).
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
• Confident working with pumps, conveyors, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Good organisation and communication skills.
• PC literate; IOSH or H&S qualification desirable.
