Job summary

A number of exciting opportunities have arisen for Medical Secretaries and Booking Clerks across our organisation. We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic people with a flexible approach to provide support to clinical teams, ensuring a first-class service is delivered to our patients. The post holders will ensure all administrative processes are followed in providing a streamlined service to our patients, consultants, and external agencies.

Main duties of the job

The roles primarily involves typing correspondence, managing patient appointments, dealing with phone queries, managing clinical diaries and rotas, validating waiting lists alongside other secretarial and administrative duties which contribute to the efficient running of services. Applicants should possess AMSPAR, OCR, RSA Level 3 or equivalent typing/keyboard qualification or have 2 years proven experience in a similar role. Knowledge of medical terminology and experience in audio typing is desirable but not essential.

Applicants will need excellent organisational skills, a flexible approach to work and possess an empathetic nature to be able to confidently deal with patient queries. Level 2 numeracy and literacy skills are essential to the post and MUST be shown in your application, if these qualifications arent listed in your application, you will not be shortlisted.
