Job summary
Clinical Fellow - Trauma & Orthopaedics 40 hours per week + Resident OC Permanent
The work of the Department consists of trauma care for the patients arriving via the Accident and Emergency Department and provision of elective Orthopaedic care for the local residents. The Accident and Emergency Department is a very busy department run quite separately from the Orthopaedic Department by its Accident and Emergency Consultants. Each Orthopaedic Consultant has two elective clinics, a fracture clinic and 3 theatre sessions per week. The unit has approximately 50 beds, including children's beds for inpatient services.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will predominately work on the ward providing support to the Consultants and junior grades work to sustain the provision of an efficient Trauma and Orthopaedic service to patients, including ensuring, in conjunction with colleagues, the highest quality of care is provided to each individual patient who attends the specialty and support the Trauma and Orthopaedic Department in meeting and delivering its local and national targets.
