Goole | 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract

We are looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join a well-established finance function in Goole on a 6-month fixed-term contract.

This role would suit someone with a good grounding in financial accounting who is comfortable working to deadlines and wants to broaden their experience across month-end and reporting.

The Role

You will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial accounting function, including:

• Supporting the month-end close and preparation of financial information
• Posting journals and assisting with the maintenance of accurate accounting records
• Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
• Assisting with accruals, prepayments and other month-end adjustments
• Helping to produce regular financial reports and analysis
• Providing information and support during audit periods
• Investigating discrepancies and responding to finance-related queries
• Assisting with other accounting tasks and projects as required

About You

The successful Assistant Financial Accountant will ideally have:

• Previous experience within a financial accounting or similar finance role
• Experience of month-end accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
• Good Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
• The ability to manage your workload and meet deadlines
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
• A proactive attitude and willingness to take on new responsibilities

This is a good opportunity for an Assistant Financial Accountant based in or around Goole who is available for a 6-month FTC and looking to build on their existing financial accounting experience.
