Accounts Technician

Are you an experienced Accounts Technician looking for your next opportunity? We are working with a well-established business seeking a detail-oriented finance professional to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy finance function where you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes while supporting the wider business.

The Role

Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day finance operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and processing financial transactions accurately and efficiently
• Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers
• Bank reconciliations and cashbook management
• Assisting with month-end processes and reporting
• Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Preparing VAT returns and statutory reporting requirements
• Managing accruals and prepayments
• Investigating and resolving financial discrepancies
• Assisting with audit preparation and documentation
• Producing financial reports and analysis as required

About You

• Previous experience in an Accounts Technician, Assistant Accountant, Bookkeeper, or similar finance role
• AAT qualified or studying towards a professional accounting qualification
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and finance processes
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong Excel and financial systems experience
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Effective communication skills with finance and non-finance stakeholders
