Senior Programme Officer
Band: Equivalent NHS Band 5
Duration: Initial contract to end of March 2027
Location: Hybrid working arrangement (Up to 80% remote working)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

The department leads academic training, professional development and workforce strategy programmes. The team is responsible for policy development, strategic planning and programme delivery.The Senior Programme Officer plays a key role in supporting the effective delivery of training, development and fellowship programmes.
You will:
- Support Programme Managers and Senior Programme Managers in delivering training schemes and fellowship programmes
- Contribute to the oversight and management of funding streams
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and provide supervision to administrative staff
- Deliver a range of programmes, workshops, meetings and conferences
- Support wider organisational objectives and activities as required
Essential
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to analyse, interpret and present complex information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience of financial administration, budget management and contract processes
- Proven ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple complex workloads
- Understanding of academic, research or public sector environments
- Awareness of government policy and strategy relating to research and innovation
Desirable
- Experience working within international or globally funded programmes
- Experience within healthcare, education, research or public sector organisations
- Understanding of workforce development and capacity building
- Knowledge of research programme management and administration
