SEN Teacher - Specialist Primary Teaching Opportunity

A highly inclusive and ambitious primary school in Lambeth is seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join its specialist provision from 21st September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate SEN Teacher to join a well-established specialist setting supporting pupils with a range of complex additional needs. The provision offers a structured, nurturing environment where learning is carefully adapted around each pupil's individual strengths, needs and EHCP outcomes.

The successful SEN Teacher will work alongside experienced Teaching Assistants, the SENCO and wider multidisciplinary professionals to provide high-quality, personalised teaching.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Lead teaching within a specialist primary SEN class
  • Plan and deliver engaging, highly differentiated lessons
  • Set ambitious but achievable targets based on individual needs and EHCP outcomes
  • Support pupils with Autism, communication needs and associated learning difficulties
  • Promote communication, independence and emotional regulation
  • Use a range of sensory, visual and communication strategies
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants to ensure consistent support
  • Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and wider assessment
The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for an SEN Teacher who:

  • Holds QTS and has experience teaching in a primary or specialist setting
  • Has genuine experience working with pupils with SEND
  • Is confident supporting children with complex learning and communication needs
  • Has excellent behaviour management and a calm, consistent approach
  • Can create engaging learning opportunities while adapting to individual needs
  • Is collaborative, resilient and passionate about inclusive education

Experience with ASD, Makaton, PECS, sensory strategies or communication-based approaches would be highly advantageous.
