Public Health OfficerRole Responsibility

We are looking to appoint a highly skilled public health officer to join our talented Kent County Council Public Health Directorate's Sexual Health team. You will provide technical project support to support the effective delivery of a £16.8m portfolio of sexual health services working to improve health outcomes for more than 1.6 million people living and working in Kent. It is an exciting time to join our team and a great opportunity to make a positive difference for the people we serve.

You will need to be a suitably qualified individual with strong skills in public health, research, report writing, data analysis and project management. The role will be to develop and deliver specific projects within the Public Health Sexual Health team, working with our team and a range of partners to optimise our efforts for improving sexual health outcomes and equity across Kent. Your projects will include completing district-level sexual health needs assessments, shaping an enhanced sexual health service offer to reach all Kent residents with a particular focus on children and young people, understanding HIV late diagnosis, and a range of other areas also.

You will have high levels of organisation, professional standards, and communication. You will be fully competent in using IT such as Microsoft PowerPoint, word and cloud systems / shared drives for team working.

Kent is a large County with lots of complex public health issues. You will have the ability to prioritise competing demands and objectives, be reliable and proactive, and be able to work with a diverse range of colleagues to deliver projects to time, budget and high standards.
