SEND / SEMH Teaching Assistant

Aspire People are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEND and social, emotional, and mental health needs across a range of primary and secondary schools.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusion and enjoys helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

The Role May Include:

* Providing 1:1 and small-group support
* Supporting pupils with SEND, ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties
* Working with pupils who have SEMH and behavioural needs
* Helping pupils manage emotions and develop positive coping strategies
* Supporting classroom learning and differentiated activities
* Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
* Helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and resilience
* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
* Supporting pupils during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times

The Ideal Candidate:

* Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
* Experience supporting SEND, SEMH, or challenging behaviour
* A calm, patient, and consistent approach
* Strong relationship-building and communication skills
* Confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis
* Able to adapt support strategies to meet individual needs
* A genuine passion for inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
