We're looking for a Principal Angular Engineer to play a key role in shaping the future of a large-scale enterprise platform. This is an opportunity to combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership, driving architecture, modernisation initiatives, and engineering excellence across a complex technology landscape.
The RoleAs a Principal Angular Engineer, you'll be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of highly complex solutions, acting as a technical authority within the engineering team. You'll challenge the status quo, champion best practice, and help define the future direction of front-end development.
Working closely with architects, product teams, and senior engineering stakeholders, you'll lead technical decision-making, improve system quality, and drive the adoption of modern engineering standards and practices.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and delivery of complex frontend solutions.
- Drive Angular best practices, code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
- Champion technical modernisation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Influence architecture and design decisions across multiple teams.
- Identify and resolve technical bottlenecks and dependencies.
- Mentor engineers and elevate technical capability across the organisation.
- Ensure security, performance, and reliability are embedded within all solutions.
- Contribute to architectural governance, standards, and engineering strategy.
You'll be a highly experienced frontend engineer with deep Angular expertise and a passion for building robust, scalable applications.
Essential Skills- Expert knowledge of Angular and modern frontend architecture.
- Strong experience with TypeScript and JavaScript.
- Deep understanding of Angular design principles and best practices.
- Experience with Angular CLI, Nx, Webpack and associated tooling.
- Strong understanding of asynchronous and parallel programming.
- Ability to make architectural decisions across complex systems.
- Experience driving engineering standards and technical best practices.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience with React or Vue.
- Java development experience.
- Experience working within large-scale enterprise environments.
- Previous experience operating at Lead, Principal, Staff or Architect level.
