Interim Financial Controller | Finance Transformation & NetSuite Project

We are working with a growing business seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to support a major finance transformation programme.

This assignment will focus on integrating a newly acquired operation into the wider group structure, implementing robust financial controls and reporting processes, and leading a significant NetSuite migration project.

Reporting into senior finance leadership, the successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with proven project delivery experience, helping to ensure a smooth transition whilst maintaining effective business-as-usual finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Transformation & NetSuite Migration

• Lead the integration of a recently acquired business into the wider finance function.
• Deliver the successful implementation and embedding of NetSuite.
• Oversee chart of accounts design, financial mappings, data migration and system configuration.
• Manage the transfer and reconciliation of financial data and opening balances.
• Establish month-end close processes, controls and reporting procedures.
• Develop effective governance and control frameworks across transactional and reporting activities.
• Support the enhancement and documentation of finance processes and operating procedures.

Financial Control & Reporting

• Produce monthly management accounts, forecasts and financial analysis.
• Support budgeting and planning activities.
• Partner with operational leadership to provide commercial insight and decision support.
• Assist with group reporting, consolidations and intercompany reconciliations.
• Support senior stakeholders through a period of organisational change and integration.

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and strengthen financial controls.
• Create clear process documentation and procedural guides.
• Support knowledge transfer and handover activities to the permanent finance team.
• Ensure sustainable processes are embedded before completion of the assignment.

Candidate Profile

Essential

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Previous Financial Controller or senior finance leadership experience.
• Strong hands-on NetSuite implementation, migration or optimisation experience.
• Proven track record delivering finance transformation, ERP implementation, integration or business change projects.
• Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Experience implementing financial controls, reporting frameworks and process improvements.
• Comfortable operating independently within fast-paced environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Working Arrangements

This is a hybrid position requiring regular on-site presence in both London and the South West.

The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across multiple locations and should be comfortable travelling between sites on a weekly basis. Flexibility is available around how the working week is structured, but travel and face-to-face collaboration are key requirements of the role.
