Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Registered Nurse - Paediatrics (Ward 25)
The closing date is 18 November 2026
Job summary
Join our dedicated Paediatric team at Sherwood Forest Hospitals as a Registered Children's Nurse and build your career in a supportive, forward-thinking environment where you can make a real difference to children, young people and their families.
We are recruiting enthusiastic and motivated Registered Children's Nurses, whether newly qualified or experienced, to join Ward 25 (Paediatrics) on a permanent basis.
Ward 25 is a busy and rewarding 30-bed children's unit providing a mix of medical and surgical care. The ward includes two High Dependency beds and an integrated Children's Assessment Unit, with opportunities to rotate within these areas to broaden your experience. We also have a well-established day-case surgery pathway, offering exposure to a wide range of paediatric specialties.
We are looking for compassionate, motivated first-level Registered Children's Nurses who are committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care. You'll be keen to develop your clinical skills, work flexibly across a 24-hour service, and thrive as part of a friendly, supportive and passionate multidisciplinary team that puts children and families at the heart of everything it does.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career in a modern NHS Trust that is committed to supporting professional growth, innovation and outstanding patient care.
Please note: This vacancy is for Ward 25 (Paediatrics) only.

About us
We are an award-winning NHS Foundation Trust working alongside health and social care colleagues across the county to provide acute and community healthcare services to more than 420,000 people across Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood, and parts of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.
We put the patient at the heart of everything that we do and it is our aim to make sure that every patient is treated as we would want a member of our own family to be treated. At the same time, we expect our staff to be caring, kind and courteous to each other and to look out for each other. We believe that we are truly a clinically-led organisation.
We are proud that our Trust colleagues have voted us the best acute Trust to work for in the East Midlands for seven years running in the National NHS Staff Survey, while the Care Quality Commission has rated our Trust as 'outstanding' for care and our King's Mill Hospital as the only 'outstanding' NHS-run hospital in the East Midlands.
Not all of our roles are eligible for visa sponsorship. To find out which roles are eligible, please refer to the shortage occupation list found here:
