MHST Band 7 CBT Therapist/supervisor

We have an opportunity for a CBT Therapist to join us on a fixed term basis, covering maternity leave. This is to cover the Children's Wellbeing Service which is linked with the Mental Health Support team offering early intervention for children and young people across Northamptonshire.

Do you have a passion for Early Intervention and CBT Therapy?

Are you interested in working with children and young people at an early intervention stage to support their emotional/mental health and wellbeing?

Do you enjoy working within a team, sharing your knowledge of how to support children and young people with colleagues inside and outside of the NHS? Are you keen to develop your clinical skills and clinically lead with evidence-based interventions?

If the answer is yes, we welcome your application.

You will need to have a valid UK driving license and a car to use for work

Our service operates Monday to Friday 9am-5pm with occasional earlier starts and later finish times to accommodate school assemblies and parent's evenings

Main duties of the job

This role is to work as a senior member across both the Mental health Support service and the Children's Wellbeing team.

MHST's are working within schools, ensuring children and young people receive faster access to earlier mental health support. The Children's Wellbeing service offers the same interventions to children and young people whose school is not linked with the MHST service.

You will be one of the senior clinical members of the team adding to the number of teams in a growing early intervention mental health service. You will be expected to hold a clinical caseload, offer supervision to junior staff and when necessary and appropriate deputise for the MHST Clinical & Team Lead.

In this role you will support and provide a high-quality service to children and young people (and their families) experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. This will be done through the supervision of junior staff, providing consultations with other teams across children's services and through direct delivery of evidence-based interventions to support the recovery of children and young people referred to the service. This work will be in accordance with clinical governance processes and professional standards.
