GP Practice in Wales Receptionist - Bron Derw Medical Centre
The closing date is 20 November 2026
Job summary
Medical Receptionist - We are seeking two enthusiastic and motivated Medical Receptionists to join our established team ( 35 hours and 20 hours both over 4 days). Whether you already have experience in primary care or are looking for a new career opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
What makes this role different is the level of support available to our reception team. As a Total Triage Practice, all clinical assessment and triage decisions are undertaken by our GPs and clinicians. Our receptionists are not expected to assess clinical urgency or decide who requires an appointment. Instead, staff are supported by a dedicated clinical team throughout the day and focus on providing excellent customer service and administrative support to patients.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a welcoming practice where teamwork, staff wellbeing and patient care are at the centre of everything we do.
At Bron Derw Medical Centre, our clinicians undertake all triage decisions for urgent and acute care, allowing receptionists to focus on supporting patients without the pressure of making clinical judgments.
We offer:
A fully supported reception team
Clinical and peer support available throughout the day
No lone working
Full training and ongoing development
Friendly and approachable team
Modern purpose-built working environment
Opportunity to work within an established GP Training Practice
A genuinely supportive team culture where staff wellbeing matters
Main duties of the job
Provide a professional and welcoming service to patients and visitors.
Answer telephone calls and assist patients with enquiries.
Support patients to access services through our digital systems, including eConsult.
Book appointments that have been clinically triaged and allocated by GPs and clinicians.
Process patient registrations and administrative requests.
Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence.
Work collaboratively with the wider reception and administrative team.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to practice policies and procedures.
About us
We are a purpose built medical Centre 2003, fully DDA compliant with accessible parking and patient carpark. We have a population of 10,000 plus patients, serving Bangor and the surrounding areas.
