James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Research and Evaluation Associate
The closing date is 12 November 2026
Job summary
This is a distinctive opportunity to join an ambitious and supportive Research and Development team at an exciting point in its growth, with a two-year, part-time (15hrs/wk) opportunity to expand our capacity.
Our Research Design Team provides practical, expert support that brings together service evaluation, workforce development and implementation. We work alongside multidisciplinary clinical and non clinical teams to develop ideas, provide training and education scholarships and internships and translate findings into improvements in practice.
You will not be working at a distance from practice. You will work directly with staff to build confidence, capability and sustainable routes into research, helping people move from curiosity to a clear question, from a question to a deliverable project and from findings to meaningful change.
You will bring knowledge and / or professional experience, with a strong understanding of research or service evaluation design and delivery in health or care. You will be organised, thoughtful and credible and able to create the conditions in which others can learn. Just as importantly, you will enjoy working collaboratively as part of a fun team.
If you want a role where your own expertise can have a multiplier effect, supporting individual careers, strengthening teams and improving care, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
Lead and develop our JPUH research, evaluation and QI scholarship programme
Build research and evaluation capacity and capability across the workforce
Develop collaborative relationships across the Trust and with regional and national partners.
Contribute to publications, presentations and the wider portfolio of the Research Design Team.
About us
We want to attract the best and brightest people to work with us and that means we will look after you from the moment you apply for a role at the Trust and throughout your career with us. Our staff are central to everything we do, and we believe that investing in you is crucial if we want to enable you to reach your full potential.
