Sirona care & health CIC Head of EPRR
The closing date is 06 November 2026
Job summary
The Head of EPRR is Sirona's senior specialist adviser and operational lead for Emergency Preparedness, Resilience, Response and business continuity; playing a key role in protecting people and safeguarding the continuity of safe, effective NHS-funded services.
You will lead an organisation-wide, all-hazards system that protects people, maintains safe and effective NHS-funded services, enables coordinated incident response and recovery, and provides reliable assurance from frontline services to the Board.
Working with substantial autonomy, you will translate legislation, NHS contractual requirements, the current NHS England EPRR Framework and Core Standards, risk intelligence and learning into policies, plans, capabilities, training, exercises and measurable improvement.
The role works across Sirona and with BNSSG and wider resilience partners, while respecting the operational accountability of service, clinical and corporate leaders.
Main duties of the job
- Act as principal specialist adviser to the AEO, Chief Executive, executives, senior leaders and Board on readiness, resilience, compliance, capability, material risk and resource requirements.
- Lead the EPRR policy, operating model, annual work programme and assurance framework, maintaining alignment with current NHS England requirements, applicable Core Standards, the NHS Standard Contract and relevant legal duties.
- Lead the annual Core Standards self-assessment and evidence process; make professionally robust compliance judgements; coordinate improvement plans; support AEO sign-off, ICB confirm-and-challenge and final public Board assurance.
- Prepare the annual public statement/report on EPRR readiness and preparedness and concise assurance reports for the agreed route: Business Continuity Oversight Group (BCOG) -> Resilient Sirona -> Executive Management Board -> Audit, Assurance and Risk Committee -> Board, or its formally approved successor route.
- Maintain an auditable evidence library, action tracker and document-control system; escalate non-compliance, expired evidence, overdue actions, capacity constraints and unresolved risks promptly.
- Provide expert input to business planning, transformation, service change, procurement and investment so resilience requirements and unintended consequences are considered before decisions are made.
