School Attendance Officer

Full-time | From £15 per hour | Medway

Academics are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming school in Medway for an organised and proactive School Attendance Officer to join their team on a full-time basis.

As Attendance Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring and promoting good attendance and punctuality across the school. You will work closely with students, parents, carers and staff to follow up on absences, maintain accurate records and help improve overall attendance.

• Monitor daily attendance and punctuality records.

• Contact parents and carers to follow up on unexplained absences.

• Investigate attendance concerns and escalate where necessary.

• Work alongside teaching staff and external agencies to support students.

• Maintain accurate attendance records and produce reports.

• Help implement strategies to improve attendance and punctuality.

• Previous experience in a school or administrative setting.

• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

• A confident and approachable manner when speaking with parents and carers.

• Experience using attendance systems such as SIMS or similar.

• The ability to handle confidential information professionally.

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
