Assistant Accountant - 6 Month FTC Outskirts of Middlesbrough £35,000 - £40,000
6 Month Fixed-Term Contract

Are you an experienced Assistant Accountant looking for your next opportunity?I'm recruiting for a fantastic business based on the outskirts of Middlesbrough who are looking to add an Assistant Accountant to their finance team on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on accounting role and wants to take real ownership of the month-end process while working closely with an experienced Finance Manager.

What will you be doing?

• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Preparation and posting of monthly journals
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations
• Managing intercompany reconciliations and recharges
• Preparing VAT reconciliations and submissions
• Working closely with the Finance Manager on a variety of ad hoc tasks between month-end close periods
• Supporting with ad hoc finance projects and process improvements

What are we looking for?

• Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant, Management Accountant or similar finance role
• Strong experience supporting the month-end process
• Good knowledge of balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
• Confidence working with journals and VAT
• Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail
• A proactive approach and the ability to work independently as well as part of a wider finance team

Part-qualified accountants or candidates who are AAT qualified / qualified by experience would also be encouraged to apply.
