HAYS Education is recruiting an experienced Band 6/7 Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist SEN school in West London, supporting children and young people with a range of complex communication and additional needs.The role:

• Manage a caseload of pupils with complex speech, language and communication needs
• Complete specialist assessments and develop individualised therapy programmes
• Support pupils with communication, interaction, receptive and expressive language
• Deliver and advise on AAC and alternative communication strategies where appropriate
• Work closely with Occupational Therapists, teachers, SEN support staff, families and other professionals
• Contribute to EHCPs, annual reviews, reports and target setting
• Provide training and guidance to school staff to embed communication strategies throughout the school day
• Band 7 candidates may also provide clinical supervision and support to junior therapists and therapy assistants

We are looking for:

• HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist
• Experience working with children or young people with SEN and complex needs
• Strong assessment, intervention and multidisciplinary working skills
• Experience within SEN schools, paediatrics or specialist education is highly desirable
• Confidence working with pupils who may be non-speaking or use AAC
