About this job
Student Teacher - Part-Time Long-Term School Support
Manchester & Surrounding Areas | November 2026 Onwards | Part-Time Opportunities | Aspire People
Aspire People are looking for student teachers who want to build consistent school experience while continuing their teacher training.
We work with primary schools across Manchester that may need part-time classroom support and longer-term Teaching Assistant cover. These roles could suit students who prefer agreed working days rather than relying entirely on daily supply.
The Role:
- Supporting teachers with classroom learning
- Providing individual and small-group support
- Assisting with phonics, reading, writing and Maths
- Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
- Helping maintain positive classroom routines
- Encouraging independence, engagement and confidence
- Working with school staff to support pupil progress
Essential Requirements:
- Currently studying towards a primary teaching qualification or relevant teacher-training route
- Relevant UK-based experience supporting children within the last two years
- Practical experience in a school or comparable child-focused setting
- Ability to commit to agreed working days
- Strong communication, organisation and safeguarding awareness
Why Consider a Longer-Term Role?
- Build relationships with pupils and staff
- Gain consistent experience in one school environment
- Apply learning from your teacher-training course
- Develop confidence with classroom routines and behaviour
- Explore opportunities that fit around your study timetable
Working days will depend on school requirements and your availability, so flexibility is important.
If you are looking for part-time school work from November onwards, get in touch with Aspire People.
