Job summary

Situated within beautiful gardens and grounds, the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability (RHN) is a leading national centre of excellence and one of the longest-running charities and independent hospitals in the UK.

Set in a stunning Grade II listed Victorian building, the RHN provides adult person-centred services across the entire care pathwayfrom post-acute rehabilitation to end-of-life carefor people with complex neuro-disabilities and their families. Underpinned by a strong research and education framework, the RHN is more than a hospital; it is a vibrant community where residents engage in music, art, and holistic support to achieve the best possible quality of life.

We have an exciting new opportunity to join our Nursing Management Team, as a Ward Manager of JEC Ward on our Long Term Ventilation Service.

The Ventilation Service provides care and treatment for people who need ventilator support in a specially designed environment. Both wards support the growing number of patients with complex respiratory requirements. This includes patients receiving tracheostomy ventilation and non-invasive ventilator (NIV) support, as well as those requiring skilled and frequent intervention. The multi-disciplinary team is made up of a specialist consultant, nursing staff and a range of therapists, who care for people with complex needs on both a short-term or longer-stay basis. The post holder will work across the MDT to ensure a holistic approach and provide leadership and oversight of patient care and goal-setting.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, driven, and dynamic and nurse leader to join our friendly team whilst being able to be responsible and accountable for the provision of person-centred patientcare through the modelling of strong clinical leadership to nursing teams on Leonora Ward.

Being a motivated individual who is able to work autonomously or in a team, with a flexible approach to work planning and management and a can-do attitude, the Ward manager will create a learning culture, as well as developing and maintaining high standards of evidenced-based care through the development and monitoring of capabilities and performance of nursing and health care assistant teams.

The Ward manager will be supported by service Matron, other matrons and Director of Nursing. They will be highly visible across the hospital in the clinical areas and wards, working alongside multi-disciplinary colleagues, and in doing so gaining the confidence and respect of all key stakeholders.Click here for the full job desccription
