We are seeking a GDC Registered Dental Nurse to join our Maxillofacial Department

The successful candidate will be based within a busy Maxillofacial Service working across two District General Hospital sites. This role requires an adaptable and motivated individual who is committed to delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the clinical team in a fast-paced environment.

The post holder will undertake a range of assigned duties involving both direct and indirect patient care, working in accordance with agreed protocols, policies and procedures. They will support clinicians during patient consultations and procedures, ensure clinical environments are prepared and maintained to the required standards, and contribute to the efficient running of the service.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide high quality dental nurse care across a broad range of specialities.
  • Participate in delivery of evidence based care and to ensure consistency and continuity in the quality of care.
  • To provide a safe, welcoming and compassionate environment for patients and relatives.
  • Deliver pre and post treatment instructions to patients and relatives/carers.
  • Assist dental practitioners in undertaking four handed dentistry.
  • To support the Senior Dental Nurse in the supervision of learners and newly appointed dental nurses.

This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. Whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means being able to communicate in Welsh during routine clinical situations, such as welcoming patients, discussing straightforward aspects of their care and answering routine questions. If you're comfortable holding everyday conversations in Welsh, we encourage you to apply. Your Welsh language skills will help us provide person-centred care and enable patients to receive services in their language of choice. Have a look at our 'Croeso Candidate' booklet below for more information.
