Ellesmere Port | £40,000 – £45,000 | 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Must be available at short-notice and live locally to the Ellesmere Port area.

Rotheram Carrington Financial Recruitment is working with a well-established organisation in Ellesmere Port to recruit a Finance Business Partner on a 12-month fixed-term contract, providing maternity cover.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant or Finance Business Partner who can hit the ground running and provide effective financial support across a range of operational service areas. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders, service leads and budget holders, providing meaningful financial insight, supporting financial planning and challenging performance to help drive informed business decisions.

This role requires someone who is available to start at short notice.

Key Responsibilities

• Management Accounting & Financial Reporting
• Prepare and present monthly management accounts for allocated service areas.
• Support the preparation of budgets and ongoing financial planning.
• Maintain rolling forecasts, highlighting financial risks and opportunities.
• Produce detailed financial analysis, variance reporting and commentary.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and reviews.
• Support the wider finance team with organisational projects and ad hoc financial requirements.
• Build effective working relationships with Service Heads, budget holders and senior stakeholders.
• Provide proactive financial advice, insight and constructive challenge.
• Lead regular financial performance review meetings, presenting results and forecasts.
• Support managers in identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and value for money.
• Challenge assumptions and provide financial guidance to support operational decision-making.

About You

Our Client is looking for a confident and commercially minded finance professional who can quickly establish relationships, understand operational requirements and provide effective business partnering support.

You will ideally have:

• Experience in a Management Accountant or Finance Business Partner role.
• Management accounting, budgeting and forecasting experience.
• The ability to interpret financial information and communicate it effectively to non-finance stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
• The confidence to challenge and influence budget holders.
• The ability to work independently and adapt quickly to a new environment.

Package & Benefits

• Salary: £40,000 to £45,000.
• Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover).
• Working pattern: Hybrid (2 days WFH)
• Pension: Employer contribution of 5% with an additional £2,000 pension contribution included in the package.
